Edinburgh breweries in the spotlight at Lidl's Isle of Ale festival
Showcasing the best of Scottish craft beers, this autumn’s festival includes 21 beers to try, from a showcase of 15 breweries, available from just £1.19
Featured in the line-up is the sweet dessert stout Marshmallow Milk Stout from Barney’s Beer, the crisp and clean Bohemian Pilsner from Bellfield Brewery and the silky-smooth Brown Ale Futurism Modern Brown from the Edinburgh Beer Factory.

Hide AdEmily Clarke, from the Edinburgh Beer Factory said: “It’s a good winter warmer, it’s an american style brown ale made using american hops which gives it a bit more of citrusy and refreshing flavour. It’s a dark style beer but lots of coffee and chocolate notes in there as well as it’s a good one for the winter period.”
The festival is launching in Lidl stores across the country from October 22 and will include an autumnal theme with darker, sweeter styles of beer that are ideal for toasting the
longer, chillier evenings.
Marketing direct of Stewart Brewing, Sarah Stirton said: “We work quite closely with Lidl all year round, it’s really great for us to have their continued support and also with the events like the beer festival, it’s really nice for us to get to do one off things which create a bit of excitement, it’s something a bit different.”

Other breweries across Scotland taking part include Loch Lomond Brewing who have produced ‘Zoom Time’, a 4.5 per cent New England IPA with citrus, peach and fresh pineapple flavours and Dundee’s 71 Brewing with their hoppy and fruity Double New England IPA, Luminous Nights, for those clinging onto the final notes of summer.
