Charity in JK Rowling ‘bitch’ tweet row shuts down
The Dignity Project, which promoted anti-poverty work in Africa, attracted national media attention in June after describing the bestselling author as a “bitch” for her £1m donation to the Better Together campaign.
The tweet linked to a news story about the donation and added: “What a #bitch, after we gave her shelter in our city when she was a single mum.”

But the charity was removed from the charity register five days ago. The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) said the charity was now defunct. “The charity applied to us to wind up and we granted our consent.”
