Pennywell Gardens incident: Police hunt youths who smashed bus window forcing suspension of five Lothian services

The 24, 27, 37 and 200 services all had to be diverted following the attack, which happened in Pennywell Gardens at about 9.40pm on Monday.
No injuries were reported in the incident, but officers are trying to trace the group of young people involved.

Hide AdA police spokeswoman said: “Around 9.40pm on Monday, 12 April, police were called after a group of youths smashed a bus window in Pennywell Gardens, Edinburgh.
"Nobody was injured during the incident and enquiries are ongoing to trace the individuals involved.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 3704 of Monday, 14 April, 2021. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
It is not the first time Lothian Buses has had to suspend services due to anti-social behaviour in the city.

Hide AdThe transport company cancelled all of their 7pm services back in March following a spate of attacks on buses.
This decision was made after an incident where youths threw stones at a bus near the Royal Infirmary Hospital.
A similar attack occurred around the same time in Niddrie where a driver was injured after a window was smashed.
The trams have also been affected after police investigated an incident where a window was smashed near the Saughton tram stop also in March.
