Memorial football match nets £6000 for Sick Kids
Craig’s parents, Sheila and John, were joined by former Hearts and Hibs player Darren Jackson, Tam Smith from Hutchison Vale FC, Craig’s school friend Gemma Maxwell and former Evening News sports writer Ian MacKay to hand over the £6317 cheque to the SKFF.
The annual memorial match and Craig Gowans Memorial Fund was set up by Sheila and John following 17-year-old Craig’s death in July 2005 when he was electrocuted after the 20-foot-long metal pole for nets he was pushing touched power lines.
