Souvenir Hearts programme to remember Dave Mackay
Mackay passed away last week at the age of 80, sparking a flood of tributes to the ex-Scotland, Hearts, Tottenham Hotspur, Derby County and Swindon Town half-back.
Capped 22 times by his country, the boyhood Hearts supporter made over 200 appearances for the Jambos and is widely regarded as the greatest player to turn out for the club in the post-war era.

The Evening News told last week how fans were calling for a stand at Tynecastle to be renamed in honour of Mackay. Deputy council leader Steve Cardownie, ex-Lord Provost Eric Milligan and Lord George Foulkes were amongst those to brand the idea a fitting tribute.
Councillor Milligan told how he was just eight when Mackay had left Hearts.
“Given my age, I’m just a bit young to say I remember Dave Mackay as a great Hearts player, but I was brought up in the Hearts family and I knew all about Dave Mackay.
“Not only was he the greatest football player Britain has had in the post-war years, to me he was the winner, the top man – and that’s how I will always remember him.”
