CELTIC manager Gordon Strachan has revealed an all-out assault on three domestic competitions and the Champions League led to the implementation of his rotation policy this season.

Strachan's team selections have come under scrutiny as many players previously thought to be first-choice picks have been left on the bench or dropped from the squad altogether.

Shunsuke Nakamura, Mark Wilson, Scott McDonald and Aiden McGeady, to name but four, have all been dropped with the last-named's demotion to the bench over the last three games sparking rumours of a rift between the Republic of Ireland player and his boss.

But Strachan revealed he is simply working to a plan formulated in pre-season and will carry it on against Livingston tonight.

"I'm going to make changes but not because it's Livingston," the Celtic boss said.

"We just had a thought this year that we want to try to win as many trophies as possible and to do that we have to keep everybody on their toes, mentally and physically."
