ORGANISERS have hailed this year’s Edinburgh Restaurant Festival as a huge success after the ten-day event attracted hundreds of diners.

Under the theme of “try something new”, eateries including Harvey Nichols, Cadiz, Veeno, The Pompadour by Galvin, Badger & Co, Chaophraya, Cup Tea Lounge and CAU ran special events and promotions.

The signature event, The Moveable Feast, took guests on a culinary tour of restaurants around the city centre.

The Edinburgh Restaurant Festival website received just under 10,000 views from eager diners, with some restaurants winning more than 90 bookings over the ten days.

Roddy Smith, chief executive of Essential Edinburgh, said: “We are thrilled with the success of this year’s Edinburgh Restaurant Festival and we’ve had some fantastic feedback from diners and restaurateurs who took part.

“As one of the UK’s top dining destinations, eating out is an increasingly important part of Edinburgh’s economy and the Festival is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the diverse range and quality dining destinations on offer.”
