A RARE first edition copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is set to go under the hammer.

The book, the first of JK Rowling’s hugely successful series, is described as being in exceptionally good condition and is expected to fetch up to £20,000. It features the famous mistake in the first edition of the debut Harry Potter book, published in 1997 by Bloomsbury, when “1 wand” was repeated in the list of equipment on page 53.
