Community groups in West Lothian have enjoyed a New Year windfall after winning vital funding.
A total of 11 organisations pocketed cash from ARISE – the Alliance to Reward Initiatives and Social Enterprise – which is backed by The Centre in Livingston.
Funding went to St Paul’s Primary School Parent Council; Livingston and District Horticultural Society; the Open Door Accommodation Project; Livingston Village Playgroup; Signpost; the Loganlea Miners Welfare Charitable Society; Whitburn Flute Band; Broxburn Pre-school Playgroup; Uphall Playgroup; SANDS Lothians and Livingston FC Boys Club.
David Carson, boss at The Centre, Livingston, who chairs the board of ARISE, said: “Being able to provide this level of funding to organisations which support our local community in West Lothian is fantastic.
“The money will help these 11 community groups continue to build on their success and improve the service they offer.
“I would encourage any group who is need of financial support in 2014 to get in touch.”
