A BOXING club is being expanded after landing a five-figure grant.
A handout of more than £88,000 will be used to add much-needed extra training space at Lochend Amateur Boxing Club.
The funding from Sportscotland will help pay for the £126,000 overhaul.
New toilet and shower facilities will be installed and disabled access will be added to the building.
The boxing ring will be housed in the new extension. Work is expected to start next month, with the upgrade to be finished by October.
Scotland’s leading amateur boxer and London Olympian, Josh Taylor, is based at the Lochend club, which has been running for more than six years.
Club founder Terry McCormack said: “The much-improved facilities will without doubt make Lochend Amateur Boxing Club more successful than it has been, having already produced District, Scottish, and British Champions plus international, Commonwealth and Olympic boxers.”
