ALMOST 2000 tonnes of aircraft carrier passed under the Forth Road Bridge as large sections of the under-construction HMS Queen Elizabeth made their way to Rosyth Dockyard.

They had travelled 600 miles from Portsmouth on a specialist barge. Programme director, Geoff Searle, said: “It’s another huge milestone and a real testament to the skills and hard work of the teams.”
