tennis champion Andy Murray will sport the Standard Life logo as he begins the defence of his Wimbledon title next week after signing a three-year sponsorship deal with the Edinburgh-based life and pensions giant.
Murray’s long-running sponsorship with the Royal Bank of Scotland came to an end several months ago.
He will wear the Standard Life logo at every tournament he plays in over the next three years.
Standard Life said Murray, currently ranked number five in the world, competed in events in all of the company’s key markets.
Chief executive David Nish said: “He is an inspirational individual and we are excited to be beginning this relationship with him.”
The company believes it will also significantly increase its brand profile through Murray’s social media presence, which includes 2.54 million Twitter followers.
