Hearts tycoon Ann Budge has revealed she felt “a bit of sympathy” for rival Hibs fans after the Easter Road side were beaten 5-1 in the Scottish Cup final.
The 66-year-old rescued the Gorgie club from administration earlier this year.
She said: “As a Hearts fan it was amazing but after the fifth one I thought, ‘Gosh, all these Hibs supporters, how awful they are going to feel going back to Edinburgh.’
“While it was great that we won it, I was aware there were young guys out there who would have to live with that score. I did have a bit of sympathy. “My daughter still criticises me to this day for thinking that way.”
