POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was injured when he was knocked off his bike by a lorry.
The incident happened at around 8.25am on Wednesday in Glasgow Road, near the Comet store. A 35-year-old cyclist was knocked off his bike by a drop-side lorry which was travelling in the same direction.
The driver failed to stop and the cyclist was taken to the ERI for treatment to a shoulder injury.
Police are now urging anyone who can help to come forward. A spokesman said: “The cyclist suffered a painful injury as a result of this collision and we are keen to trace the lorry. There is every chance the driver was not aware what happened.”
