AN armed thug ran off with drugs and cash after raiding a chemist.
The balaclava-clad man was carrying a “small bladed object” when he robbed Ladywell Pharmacy in Fernbank, Livingston, on Saturday morning.
He took controlled drugs from a cabinet and stole some cash from the till before fleeing.
Police believe he walked across the car park outside the chemist and headed towards Cloverbank.
The suspect is described as being white, in his mid 30s, around 5ft 7in and of heavy build. He spoke with a Scottish accent and had short, dark brown hair.
He was wearing a dark green baseball cap, a white homemade balaclava, light blue medical disposable gloves, a plain dark green army-style padded jacket with a full-length zip and folded-over collar, and black tracksuit bottoms with a large thick red band down the sides.
He was also wearing dark trainers with a white trim sole.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “This was a terrifying experience for the staff inside the pharmacy and our officers have been making extensive enquiries in the area to find the man responsible.
“The fact that a significant amount of medicine has been stolen and is in the wrong hands is an obvious concern, and we would urge anyone with any information that might help our investigations to get in touch immediately.”
