A TEAM from a city centre bar has become the latest to sign up for a 10k run in Fife to raise money for the Poppy Appeal.

Staff from The Standing Order, in George Street, have entered The Kingdom Poppy Run, which is in its second year and will start and finish in the grounds of Dalgety Bay Leisure Centre on Sunday. Participants can choose to walk or run the route which takes in scenery along the Fife Coastal Path.

Ex-service charity Poppyscotland is now calling on other teams to come forward.

Manager at The Standing Order, Tracy Denny, said: “I saw the advert for a 10k run in Dalgety Bay and since we support the Scottish Poppy Appeal in The Standing Order every year, we thought it would be a great achievement to join the event and support our heroes.

“We are all very excited and hope to set some personal best times too.”

The event starts at 2pm and the entry fee is £6. Participants are also encouraged to raise money through sponsorship. Call 0131 550 1578 to register.
