A BIKER had sex with an under-age girl in the woods near a secondary school.
Liam Mackenzie, 19, claimed he became the 14-year-old schoolgirl’s boyfriend because he thought she was over 16.
But when her parents found out she was dating an older boy, they called the police.
Mackenzie, of Talisman Rise in Livingston, was arrested and charged under the Sexual Offences Act.
He pleaded guilty to having unlawful intercourse with the under-age girl in July 2012 and was today ordered to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
He was also banned from any contact with girls aged under 16 and was put on the sex offenders register.
Neil Stewart, defending, said Mackenzie had only known the girl for three weeks before he started dating her.
He told the court: “He thought she was over the age of 16. He advises that she’s socially, mentally and physically mature, and if you were to see them walking down the street together they almost look the same age. Clearly, given the nature of the charge, sex was consensual.”
