comedy legend Billy Connolly’s has added a sixth night to his Capital stint later this year.
The Big Yin will take to the stage at the Usher Hall in October as part of his High Horse Tour 2014.
Tickets will go on sale for the new date – Thursday, October 16 – at 10am on Wednesday morning.
Connolly will also perform at the Lothian Road venue on October 4, 5, 7, 8, 15.
The extra date comes in response to massive demand to see the popular entertainer.
When tickets went on sale for the initial four dates, many fans were left frustrated when the Usher Hall website crashed as they tried to make payments.
An Usher Hall spokeswoman called for patience from fans as the new batch of tickets went on sale.
She said: “All tickets sales for this tour have faced high demand, resulting in queues for counter sales and heavy traffic across the website and phone lines - an indication that this new date will also be in high demand.
“As with previously added extra Billy Connolly dates, we are maximising the number of staff dealing with bookings across all channels and we would ask all our customers to be as patient as possible as we get through the volume of booking traffic. Due to public demand tickets are restricted to two per person.”
Connolly, 71, recently revealed he was battling Parkinson’s and prostate cancer and underwent minor surgery in the United State. His website insisted that the operation “was a total success”.
