TWO “complex” faults in underground power cables left almost 1500 homes in the Wester Hailes area without power last night.
The power cuts hit just after 8pm, with Scottish Power engineers working to restore power to the area.
A spokesman said: “We believe this has been caused by two complex cable faults and we have engineers working to restore power to the area.
“While we will endeavour to bring homes back on line as quickly as possible, the nature of the faults means it is likely some people will be without power until later today.
“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this problem.”
