The bodies of a woman and her young son were found at a house in Bonnyrigg last night.

The dead woman woman aged 29, was found along with the body of her two year old son at a house in South Chesters Lane by a family member.

A thirty-two year old man is also being treated at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Police Scotland say they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

Police forensic teams were today searching the house after the discovery around 6:30 last night

A Police Scotland spokesperson said “We are carrying out enquiries after the body of a woman and young boy were found at a property in Bonnyrigg.”

“A thirty-two year old man is receiving treatment at the Royal Infirmary and we are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.”

Elsewhere an investigation has been launched following a disturbance near to Danderhall Miners club in Midlothian. Police attended and the area has been sealed off.
