Inquiries were continuing today following the discovery of a body in a freezing burn on Boxing Day.
Police were called at 12.50pm on Wednesday after a dog walker discovered the body of a man, believed to be between 50 and 65 years old, in the Braid Burn, which runs through waste ground beside Forkenford, off Duddingston Road West.
The street, was cordoned off for a number of hours as police and forensic workers attempted to establish the circumstances of the unexplained death, which are not thought to be suspicious at this stage.
This is the second body to be discovered in a burn in less than a week. On Saturday, the body of 56-year-old Andrew Hardie Cochrane was found in Broxburn, West Lothian. Mr Cochrane was found lying in a burn next to Holmes Road, near the bridge at Holmes Court, at 9am by someone walking a dog.
