A SIX-year-old boy has been left with serious leg injuries after being struck by a car.
He was involved in a collision with a Suzuki Swift in Wester Hailes Park at around 5pm on Monday.
He was taken to the Sick Kids, where he is undergoing treatment. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.
The driver stopped at the scene, but police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Inspector Andy Gilhooley said: “The child has sustained a very painful leg injury but thankfully was not more seriously injured.
“At this time we are still trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision is asked to contact police immediately.”
