A BUILDER has been rescued after falling 9ft from a ladder into a cellar he was renovating.
The 21-year-old was working in the home in Clark Road, Edinburgh, with his dad when the make-shift staircase from the ground floor to the basement collapsed.
He fell onto the concrete floor of the basement and the ladder fell on top of him at about 10.30am on Thursday.
Fire crews were called to help with the rescue and the road was closed at both ends for about 45 minutes.
A police spokesman said where he fell, and the size of the man, made it more complicated to get him out safely.
He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to be treated for a suspected dislocated wrist and elbow.
