EDINBURGH Chamber of Commerce has announced the shortlist for its 5th annual award ceremony taking place at Edinburgh’s Sheraton Hotel on 29th February 2016.

As the Chamber approaches its 230th Anniversary, the event will see the city’s business community come together to celebrate Edinburgh’s rich business heritage and the success of the last year while challenging business leaders to look to the future.

David Birrell, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce said: “I would like to thank everyone who entered the awards this year and congratulate the shortlisted nominees. Yet again we have seen a significant increase in the number of entrants – an indication of Edinburgh’s strengthening business community, experience and talent pool.

“As we look towards another successful year, we hope to see continued development of our young people and the positive impact this will have on preparing businesses for the future. By working towards improved collaboration between government, education and the business community we can inspire the next generation of business leaders and contribute towards continued growth.”

Key speakers on the night will include Chief Executive of Tesco Bank, Benny Higgins; Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh, The Rt. Hon. Donald Wilson; and Chief People Officer at Standard Life and Chair of the new Regional Developing Young Workforce group, Sandy Begbie.

The shortlist includes representatives from a wide spectrum of sectors including retail, tourism, professional services and transport. A full shortlist is available from The Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce website.
