THOUSANDS of women are expected to sign up for a major charity event which aims to raise half a million pounds for the fight against cancer.
Entries opened today for the Race for Life, which takes place in Holyrood Park, and last year saw 5700 women raise £412,700 for Cancer Research UK.
Females of all ages are urged to sign up for either a five or ten-kilometre run on June 16.
Hamish Moir, Cancer Research’s Edinburgh events manager, said: “There are over 200 cancers and we won’t give up until we find cures for them all. It’s fighting talk.”
To sign up, log on to www.raceforlife.org or call 0845 600 6050.
