DEMAND for office space in the Capital rose by almost a fifth last year, sparking hope of a recovery in the city economy.
A survey has found that business lettings went up 19 per cent in 2011.
Industry experts said firms in Edinburgh were also looking to rent larger office space than in previous years, an indicator more companies are looking to expand staffing levels.
The report was carried out by website officebroker.com.
Its UK head of sales, Chris Meredith, said: “Scotland’s leading cities appear to remain attractive locations, with the growing number of larger firms entering the market.
“The activity recorded across Edinburgh reflects the changing needs of businesses.”
