A DRIVER narrowly avoided ploughing through a shop window after a collision in the Old Town.

Two cars were involved in the smash, which took place at the corner of St Mary’s Street and the Royal Mile at around 2pm yesterday. One of the vehicles mounted the pavement and struck the window of the Ragamuffin clothing store, cracking a pane of glass.

Police said no-one was injured in the incident.
