The National Museum of Flight is to hold a Cold War event.
The museum, at East Fortune in East Lothian, will demonstrate to visitors what life was like in the middle of the conflict.
Hangars on the museum’s airfield were used as storage for military supplies, and its runways were extended with the intention of turning it into a US military base.
During the half-term event – from February 11 to 19 – there will also be guided tours, photographs, object handling and newsreels from the era. The event also offers family spy trails and craft activities and 1960s memorabilia.
