POLICE have issued CCTV images of a man they wish to trace in connection with a serious assault near Holyrood Palace.
The incident took place in Black Walk, which runs behind the palace, at around 4.30am on March 31.
A 27-year-old man was attacked and taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
The individual featured in the CCTV images is described as white, 6ft tall, 20-25 years old, with a slim build. He was wearing a light coloured denim jacket and white top underneath, black trousers – possibly with a chain attached – and black shoes.
Detective Sergeant Raymond Gray said: “We want to speak to the man in the CCTV images as part of our inquiries, and would appeal to anyone who recognises him to contact police.”
