CITY bankers have raised £45,000 for charity after taking part in the Great Highland Hike for Local Communities.
More than 30 charities will share the money raised by 200 members of Royal Bank of Scotland staff in Edinburgh.
The hike, which took place in June, involved walking 23 miles in less than 12 hours across the West Highlands.
The event was run by RBS in partnership with the Scottish Community Foundation, with more than £300,000 raised for charities across the UK.
Denise Alexander, regional director for RBS in Edinburgh, said: “It was fantastic to see so many staff from Edinburgh take part and it means we can deliver more support for the communities where we live and work.”
John Mercer, events director for the Scottish Community Foundation, added: “We are delighted by the support that RBS employees in Edinburgh have given.”
