EMERGENCY services raced to deal with a man who fell from a window into a city centre street.
Police found the man lying in Kirk Street just after 7pm on Sunday. He had suffered a broken leg and ankle, but the circumstances were still unclear as to how he fell.
A police spokesman said: “The 29-year-old was taken to the ERI where he continues to be treated for a broken right leg and ankle. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding this incident.”
Meanwhile, in Bathgate, firefighters had to haul a 47-year-old woman from a pond at Wester Inch after she slipped and fell down a 15ft embankment on Sunday.
A 53-year-old man who came to her aid was treated for hypothermia. Both were transferred to St John’s Hospital in Livingston but were later released.
