A POLICE officer is under investigation after a YouTube video allegedly showed him knocking a mobile phone from the hand of a man filming an arrest in Edinburgh.
The video, uploaded in September, allegedly shows the officer marching towards the cameraman and smacking the mobile out of the way.
The cameraman, who claimed he was arrested immediately afterwards, had been filming the arrest of a suspect.
The footage shows two male officers holding the suspect while a female officer beats his legs with a baton. The cameraman walks closer to the chaotic arrest when another officer appears from the side of the screen and grabs the camera.
A police spokesman said: “We intend to look in further detail at the circumstances behind this incident in order to determine whether any action is required.”
