COCKENZIE power station is no more, following the demolition of the turbine room this morning.

Evening News reader Craig Swanney shared these amazing photos of the demolition, which follows the destruction of the towers in September.

When it opened in 1967 it was Great Britain’s largest coal-fired power station.

It dominated the East Lothian skyline for close to half a century, but was decommissioned in 2003 due to an EU pollution directive.
