College row MSPs blasted

POLITICIANS have been urged to refocus their attention on issues facing the college sector after a week of turmoil.

The chairman of a Glasgow college quit after a row with Education Minister Mike Russell before he and First Minister Alex Salmond were forced to apologise to parliament over statements about funding.

Larry Flanagan, general
secretary of the Educational Institute Scotland, said: “Politicians should be focusing on addressing these issues.”
