A COMMUNITY council forced to suspend its activities after a probe was launched has been cleared of any financial wrongdoing.
The allegations concerning Granton Community Council related to the purchase of three laptops and IT equipment, worth more than £1700, bought with local authority money in September 2010.
Fred Marinello, chairman of Granton Community Council, was also accused of acting aggressively towards members at a meeting last year. He denied the claims.
The investigation report, by Natalie Hoy, the city council’s west neighbourhood and local community planning manager, said no evidence had emerged that the purchase of the laptops was for personal gain.
Ms Hoy was also unable to confirm that any bullying and intimidatory behaviour was displayed at the meeting.
