Councillor is Hibs coach

A FORMER council leader is bidding to make a dramatic career change – and is dreaming of one day managing Hibs.

East Lothian councillor Paul McLennan has been coaching the club’s under-14s side for the past five months.

The posting involves working with French Easter Road legend Guillaume Beuzelin in a dream pairing for the 46-year-old SNP group leader.

Cllr McLennan has spent stints with top European clubs Benfica and Ajax in a bid to improve his coaching skills and is going for his UEFA licence this summer.

He said: “At some stage it’d be great to get involved at a senior level – but it would have to be with Hibs.”
