The 26-year-old victim was assaulted by a group of men after leaving a pub on Saughton Road North on Saturday.

The victim suffered several facial injuries and was taken the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment. He has since been transferred to St John’s Hospital to undergo surgery.
Police have appealed for witnesses and are keen to speak the driver of a black coloured vehicle, which was temporarily parked outside Scotmid on Saughton Road North at around 1.40am.
Detective Constable Peter Stark of Corstorphine CID said: “This was a brutal attack, which has left the victim with severe facial injuries which require surgery.
“We are particularly keen to speak to the driver of the black-coloured vehicle that was seen in the area at the time of the attack.
“We would urge the driver, or anyone else who was in the area, to come forward and contact us immediately.”
