Detectives probing an assault and robbery on a Nightbus last month have released CCTV images of a man they wish to question.

The “terrified” victim was attacked on board the N44 night bus travelling from Princes Street to Tranent at around 3.40am on Sunday, July 5.

Police have now released CCTV pictures of a man, who is described as being white, 18-21 years of age, 5”9, of slim build, with dark hair and a Scottish accent.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark jumper, jeans and black shoes.

Detective Constable Stephen McCormick said: “This robbery has been a terrifying experience for the victim and other passengers on the bus and our officers have been making extensive enquiries to find the person responsible.

“We would urge anyone who may recognise the man pictured or is able to provide any information that might help our investigations to get in touch immediately.”
