A MAN accused of dismembering his mother and burying her in a shallow grave has been found guilty of culpable homicide.
40-year-old James Dunleavy – also known as Seamus Dunleavy – had denied murdering his mum Philomena, 66, between April 30 and May 7 last year.
Her remains were found buried in Corstorphine Hill in June.
A jury at the High Court in Edinburgh convicted him, by majority, of a reduced charge of culpable homicide. They also found him guilty of the attempted cover-up.
Dunleavy is being taken to the state hospital at Carstairs and will be sentenced on April 4.
