A drug addict broke in to a disabled man’s home and demanded money for drugs, a court was told yesterday.
Gary Anderson, 39, of Westfield Road, Gorgie, admitted forcing his way into 57-year-old Anthony Giorgianni’s flat in the Capital on April 18 last year, demanding money and compelling him to withdraw £90 from a cash machine.
Mr Giorgianni, who has a debilitating stomach condition, liver disease and arthritis and walks with the aid of sticks, heard a loud banging noise followed by a crashing sound.
The victim agreed to go to a cash machine by taxi with Anderson. Mr Giorgianni withdrew £90 and handed it to Anderson.
Anderson, a career criminal with 45 previous convictions, will be sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on August 26.
