A Gang of three men are being hunted by police after an assault which left their victim needing hospital treatment for serious facial injuries.

Police Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses following the attack at the junction of Granton Mill Road and Granton Mill Place, at around 8.15am on Saturday, July 12.

Officers responded after receiving a report that three men were attacking a male in the street.

They found a 26-year-old man with serious facial injuries and he was taken to St John’s Hospital for treatment.

Enquiries are underway to trace those responsible and anyone who saw the assault take place is asked to come forward.

The suspects are described only as white, 20-30-years-old and of average height and build. They are believed to have been part of a larger group of people seen in the area at the time.

Constable Neil Marr said: “The victim has sustained some very painful injuries to his face, which required medical attention and we are now trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding this attack.

“Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident, or who has information that can assist with our enquiries is asked to contact police immediately.

“In addition, anyone who can help us identify the suspects is also asked to get in touch.”
