BOGUS callers are being hunted by police after two elderly women were robbed.
An 84-year-old woman was at home in Bellevue Road on Monday at 10am when two men called and agreed a fee to carry out maintenance. But she later discovered that her purse had been taken.
Then on Tuesday, an 85-year-old woman was at her home in Davidson’s Mains at 3.30pm when a man arrived and offered to carry out gardening work. He asked to come in and took the woman’s handbag.
Detective Inspector Stuart Harkness said: “The elderly occupants have been left very upset after having their belongings stolen from within their house.”
