Lothian Road sex attack didn’t happen say police

POLICE investigating an alleged attempted rape at a bus stop on Lothian Road say they are satisfied “no offence has occurred”.

An incident had been alleged to have taken place in the early hours of Tuesday morning, near the road’s junction with Princes Street.

However, a police spokesman said today: “We carried out extensive enquiries and are satisfied no offence has occurred

“Dedicated officers will investigate all reports of sexual offences thoroughly and sensitively, with specialist support a priority.”
