Police are appealing for information following a serious assault on a man in Bathgate at the weekend.

Enquiries are ongoing after a 30-year-old male was attacked in Main Street sometime between 6.30pm and 6.45pm on Saturday 19th April.

The man was struck on the back of the head and received cuts and bruises to his face and hands. He was also treated for a broken finger after being taken to St John’s Hospital in Livingston.

Detective Sergeant Grant Paterson said: “This was a very serious incident, which happened early evening in an area opposite the Green Tree pub in Bathgate, and we are eager for people to come forward with any details which may assist police.”
