A man has appeared at Haddington Sheriff Court after being charged with a number of alleged thefts and housebreakings across East Lothian over the last month.

The 26 year old has been charged with the theft and housebreakings at eight properties in Musselburgh and two properties at Wallyford.

Police Scotland’s Inspector Andrew Harborow said: “This arrest follows extensive investigation under Operation RAC, which targets the perpetrators of housebreakings.

“We are fully committed to investigating housebreakings in East Lothian and this result sends a message to those responsible that they will be dealt with robustly.

“I would ask any person with any information regarding any crime to report it either by telephoning 101 and or via CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.”
