A man who subjected two underage boys to sex abuse was behind bars today.
Dean Armstrong sexually assaulted one youngster when he was aged 12 and 13 and carried out sex acts on another 13-year-old.
A judge told unemployed Armstrong at the High Court in Edinburgh: “You have been convicted of very serious offences against children under 16.”
Armstrong, of Woodburn Court, Dalkeith, in Midlothian, was found guilty of assaulting his first victim between February 2008 and November 2010 at an industrial estate and a wooded area in Wallyford, in East Lothian.
He was also convicted of taking part in sexual activity with the second boy between September 2012 and February last year in Musselburgh.
He was also found guilty of breaching a bail condition not to have unsupervised contact with children under 16 last year.
Lady Wise deferred sentence on first offender Armstrong, 23, for the preparation of a background report.
The judge told him that in light of the seriousness of the offences she was not prepared to continue his bail and remanded him in custody.
He was placed on the sex offenders’ register.
