THREE attackers leapt from a black 4X4 before launching a savage assault on a man in a residential street.

The 29-year-old victim suffered “a number of painful injuries” during the incident in Easter Road, Broxburn, last Sunday afternoon.

All three attackers got back in the car – which had a damaged windscreen and wing mirror – and sped off.

They are described as being white, in their 20s and wearing hooded tops.

Detective Inspector Steven Bertram from Livingston CID said: “The victim suffered a number of painful injuries, but declined medical attention and we are now conducting various lines of inquiry to trace those responsible.

“Anyone who witnessed this attack, or who has information that can assist with our investigation is asked to come forward.

“We believe the vehicle the suspects used may have sustained damage to its windscreen and wing mirror during the disturbance and so anyone who spots this car is also urged to contact police immediately.”

Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
