A MAN has been ordered to do 80 hours of unpaid work in the community after punching his stepdaughter in the face following her 18th birthday party.
Robert Russell, 41, claimed he had been provoked by Natalie McGregor at a house in Bathgate, West Lothian.
Livingston Sheriff Court heard Russell had been left drinking alone when the other guests went to bed following the party last September.
But at 8.30am Natalie and her mum got up and had an argument with Russell.
Prosecutor John Barclay said: “The argument ended with slaps being exchanged and he lost his temper and punched Natalie in the face.”
