POLICE have issued a new description of sex attacker who pounced on two women in separate indecent assaults.
The victims were attacked in Leith just 45 minutes apart on April 14.
The suspect is described as white, mid-20s, 5ft 10in to 6ft tall, medium build, fair complexion, with short dark hair. He was wearing navy jeans, dark trainers and a black hooded jacket which featured an Adidas logo on the right chest, a white stripe across the back and three white stripes on both shoulders.
The first incident happened at around 12.15am on Easter Road when a 30-year-old woman was putting rubbish out. She was approached by the suspect who grabbed her and followed her back to her flat. He ran off after the victim raised the alarm.
At around 1am on Henderson Street, a 23-year-old woman was walking towards Giles Street when the man grabbed her with both arms and indecently assaulted her.
Detective Sergeant Keith Fairbairn said: “We would like to emphasise that incidents like these are extremely rare but we are fully committed to tracing the perpetrator.”
