Police release CCTV to trace ‘indecency act’ man

POLICE are appealing for help to trace a man who left staff in a city business “distressed” after committing an act of public indecency.

Officers have released CCTV of a suspect they would like to trace in relation to the incident which happened at around 2pm on Monday, November 3 last year.

Staff at a business on Comiston Road saw the man, described as having a tanned complexion, short dark hair and a prominent stomach, touching himself inappropriately.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white tracksuit top with grey on the shoulders and light coloured tracksuit bottoms.

He spoke with an Eastern European accent.

Detective Constable Barry Murphy said: “This was a distressing incident for the people involved and we are asking anyone with information that can help us trace this man to come forward.

“Anyone who recognises the man in the image or may have information about the incident is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or, alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
